We've lived here for 6 years, and this is the most my lilac tree has ever bloomed; so I did what I always wanted to - I cut down enough for a vase. Mind you this robbed the poor thing of about half of teh good blooms, but now I'll enjoy them inside and out.

Check out the better homes and gardens website---they have a collection of garden plans for all types of areas and sun needs. Also, just FYI, ferns do well in shade and I think corral bells (I hope that's the right name) do too but I'm not sure about that.
