I'm due to be an official mother in 6 weeks. I'm now getting the "are you ready?" questions everyday by coworkers, friends and family. I guess they mean, am I ready to have my body back to being my own - and while I guess I am, it really has been a smooth ride. I'm just wondering about the mental transition I'll have to go from adding another title to my name: before I was only Melissa. Then two years ago, I transitioned to being a Mrs. to my husband. Now in just 6 weeks, I'll be a Mom to my baby. Well, at least everyone else has to go through a title change with me - grandmoms and grandpops, aunts and uncles... and most importantly "Dad".
6 measly weeks! Where did the time go? We've still got to pack our hospital bags and get the car seats installed, have a baby shower (which is this coming weekend, hooray!) and clean up the house (including finishing our upstairs bathroom). Now that the weather has cooled a bit, I'll also try to squeeze in a maternity photo shoot by my sister and friend this upcoming weekend before the shower.
