Reinventing: A Work Tunic-Jacket

My hubby & I love the show "Bones" - the characters all have great chemistry (when will Bones & Booth get together?!?), and the murder-mystery plots are always really interesting. But I also secretly love the show because everyone on it is beautiful, and in most episodes, they have fashion trends I just adore. So when I saw this tunic-jacket, I fell in love! I've been looking for something to wear over my turtlenecks- they have become too boring for me to wear to work without another layer.
Then, after unsuccessfully looking online for something close- I decided to make my own version by modifying this work shirt that i had in my Goodwill pile (another boring piece I had given up on).

I cut the sleeves off, folded in and sewed the front button/ button holes inside the shirt (after removing the buttons of course!). Since I didn't have two belt buckles on hand, I used the bottom of the old cuffs to make two button clasps in the front.
